The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The telecommunication company DNA has concluded personnel negotiations with a total of 103 jobs being cut. The company announced cuts of "some 100" in Januaru 2009.
The purpose of this restructuring process was to create one entity with a clear and uniform operating process, in order to secure our competitive ability in an extremely tough competitive situation, says Riitta Tiuraniemi, DNA President & CEO.
In Finland the job cuts will affect following units:
In other units the cuts will remain under 10 employees per unit.
DNA Group's mobile, fixed network and store businesses will be merged into one operational entity. This business restructuring is a follow-up of the change implemented on 1 July 2007, involving the combination of six regional telephone companies' local fixed-network businesses into DNA, which had been a mobile operator until then.
DNA Group employs a total of 980 employees in nine localities in Finland.
