Description

De Agostini Editore, an Italian multi-national leader in the publishing sector, is to cut 225 jobs. According to the company, this decision is due to the relevant reduction of its production and revenues. The job cuts will mainly affect the plant located in Novara (145 redundancies out of 378 employees).

The company and the trade unions have planned some meetings in the next days in order to find adequate measures to cushion the negative social effects of the lay-offs.

De Agostini Editore is organised in different business areas (partworks; direct marketing; general reference; books and cartography; school texts; digital De Agostini). It has 673 employees in Italy. De Agostini Editore belongs to the De Agostini group, a holding that coordinates De Agostini Editore, De Agostini Communications, Lottomatica and DeA Capital. De Agostini group operates in 66 countries worldwide and in four business areas: publishing, media, games and services, finance.
