Description
Atlas Copco, a Swedish company manufacturing electricity generators and compressors, is to cut 155 jobs at its plant in Wilrijk, Antwerp. This decision follows a decrease in demand caused by the global financial crisis. The trade unions and the employers have begun to negotiate a social plan to organise the collective redundancies. The trade unions hope the majortiy of the redundant workers will be granted early retirement.
