Description
State-owned Dublin Bus, which is part of Ireland's public transport company CIE, has announced 290 redundancies as part of an internal restructuring exercise aimed at cutting costs. The bus company intends to reduce its bus fleet by 120 - which equates to 10% of its whole fleet. The 290 redudancies will apply across all job categories and are due to take effect by March 2009. The company has been in discussions with its trade unions, who are opposed to compulsory job losses.
