Description

Amann Industries has announced 120 redundancies at its County Kerry textile plant. The German-owned company plans to relocate some jobs to Germany, but most will be relocated to lower-cost Romania. The company has attributed the redundancies to high manufacturing costs and the impact of the recession. The job losses will be in the processes of winding, dyeing and finishing threads. It will entail a reduction in employment at the textile plant from 340 to 220.
