European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
HMV, an entertainment retailer, has announced that it is to open 14 new stores with the creation of 269 jobs. The stores have been purchased from Zavvi, another entertainment retailer, who closed earlier this month. 379 of the company’s 692 stores are in the UK, although it is not known how many of their 11,200 worldwide employees are based in the UK. As of 18 January 2009 HMV has not announced when these new stores will open.
