Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Against the backdrop of the global financial crisis, Lindab Astron, Europe’s largest manufacturer of steel buildings, has announced its decision to implement cost-reduction measures, resulting in the dismissal of 60 workers (out of 250) at its Nyíregyháza plant by the end of January 2009.
The Lindab Group bought the factory in Nyíregyháza from Butler Manufacturing Company in 2002. The plant produces steel structures for simplified constructions, mainly for export and is part of the Sweden-based Lindab International AB, one of the market leaders in developing manufacturing, marketing and distributing products and system solutions in sheet metal and steel for simplified construction and improved indoor climate.
