European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Leoni is planning to dismiss 1,250 employees (out of a total of 1,650) from its Ostrzeszów plant by November 2009. The factory in question makes wires, cables, and cable systems for cars, and it has been adversely affected by the recent slowdown of car production in Poland.
As reported, Poland has applied for assistance from the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF).
