European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The state owned company Electrica, the biggest provider of electricity, initiated a voluntary redundancy programme for 1,725 employees. Each redundant employee will receive a compensatory payment of about 14,000 euros. The estimated turnover of the national company for 2008 is 1.7 billion euros and the present number of employees is 18,034.
