European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The Swedish Electrolux group has decided to discontinue the fixed-term work contracts for 300 employees at the Satu Mare factory. At present, the plant producing gas cookers has 1,700 employees. The decision is motivated by the decreased demand on the global market. For the first six month of 2008, Electrolux Romania reported a turnover of 84 million euros, an increase of 30% compared with the same period of 2007.
