The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Moelven ByggModul AB in Kil announces a notice of dismissal for 55 employees due to decreased demands for sheds. After negotiations, 42 employees will now be dismissed between April and June 2009. The factory in Kil will now run on minimum staffing. This is altogether the fifth notice from the Moelven Group this autumn. The other notices have not met the threshold for being reported to the database.
Moelven Byggmodul is part of the Norwegian Moelven group. The business is organised into three divisions: Timber, Wood and Building Systems. All three divisions sell to industrial and retail customers, as well as to builders and contractors in Scandinavia and the rest of Europe. The Group consists of 46 operational units in Norway, Sweden and Denmark. At the start of 2008, the number of employees totalled 3 425, of which 1,802 worked in Norway, 1,590 in Sweden, 25 in Denmark and eight in other countries.
