Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Eiffage Energía, a subsidiary of the French construction group specialised in maintaining electrical networks, and in supplying cable for civil construction work has presented a Layoff Plan for 152 workers, some 30% of its Spanish payroll. According to the union, the company attributes the announced job losses to the fall in construction activity and the loss one year ago of part of a contract with Endesa. Civil work accounts for 30% of its business.
