Description
Caramelo, a Spanish textile company from A Coruña, is to cut 237 jobs. The representatives of the Caramelo works council (comite de empresa) rejected the feasibility plan presented by the new owner of the company - the Inveravante holding. The works council representatives stated that "at no time the production expectations of the company were discussed" and expressed their concerns about the envisaged job losses. The new management of Caramelo insisted that the planned 237 job cuts will be achieved through early retirement and voluntary and individual redundancies.
