European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Speedy Hire, a company that hires tools and machinery, is to cut 492 jobs. The company attributed the cuts to the need to reduce costs as the construction sector declines. The company, which employs 5000 staff across 500 branches, will close 38 of its sites, although as of 30 November 2008 it is not known which sites will close or when these closures will occur.
