Description
BMW, a car manufacturer, has announced that it is to cut 290 agency jobs at its Mini plant in Cowley, near Oxford. The company employs 4700 workers at the plant, with around 1400 of these being agency staff. The company stated that it was attempting to match supply of its vehicles with the currently reduced levels of demand. The job cuts will come into place when the company cuts its Friday late shift on Friday 5 January 2009.
