Description
Pirelli, a company which operates mainly in the tyre and real estate sectors, is to cut 200 jobs in Italy. The job losses will affect 140 workers at Pirelli Tyre and 60 workers at Pirelli RE, the Pirelli Group's company which operates in the real estate sector. The company has taken this decision in order to reduce its operative costs and create adequate conditions to tackle the recent economic crisis.
Pirelli has around 31,000 employees worldwide. While Pirelli RE operates in the real estate sector and employs around 1,200 people in Italy, Pirelli Tyre is the fifth in the world in terms of revenue with 24 manufacturing plants in 12 countries around the world and around 25,169 employees. In Italy, Pirelli Tyre has five plants and around 4,000 employees.
