Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Axe-Tronic, a manufacturer of cables for Ford’s cars, is to lay off 70 of its 560 employees working in Mezőberény as a result of the crisis affecting the automotive industry. In an attempt to tackle the effects of the crisis, the company has decreased the number of shifts from 9 to 7, which brought forth the dismissal of 35 employees in probation period and another 35 permanent employees.
