Description
Polskie Koleje Państwowe InterCity (PKP InterCity), the state-owned railway operator, is planning to double its workforce from 5,000 to 10,000 by the end of 2009. PKP InterCity will need the new workers due to its take-over, effective 1 December 2008, of regional rail and of express train operations (from PKP and from PKP Przewozy Regionalne, respectively). The number of trains on PKP InterCity’s daily schedule will increase by more than 500 from the current 170.
