Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.

Cargotec, a cargo handler, has given notice to 330 employees at two subsidiary companies in Sweden: 134 employees at Kalmar Industries and 196 employees at Hiab. Cargotec offers handling systems and related services for loading and unloading of goods. Cargotec has three brands: Hiab, Kalmar and MacGREGOR. Cargotec’s sales exceed EUR 3 billion and the company employs approximately 12,000 people. Hiab is engaged in on-road load-handling solutions. Kalmar is a provider of container and heavy duty materials handling equipment, automation applications and related services.
