Leyland Trucks, a company manufacturing trucks, is to cut 250 jobs at its Farington site. The job losses reflect a 'severe decline' in demand while the factory will close down for two weeks over Christmas instead of the normal week. This is the second announcement of job cuts within the last 3 weeks following the one made in October 2008. As of November 2008 there is no information on when the job losses will commence nor when they will be implemented by.
