Description

Yell Group PLC, a directories business and publisher of the Yellow Pages, is to cut 1,300 jobs thus reducing its total workforce of 13,900 employees by about 9%. The cuts are part of wider cost reductions which aim to compensate for the decline in group revenues. The company plans to implement the job losses by March 2010. Yell has operations in UK, US, Spain and Latin America. As of November 2008 there is no detailed information on the job losses but according to company spokesmen, the UK, US and the Spanish markets will most likely be the ones affected by the restructuring.
