Description

The Seat Pagine Gialle (PG), one of the main operators at world level in the sector of multimedia profiled advertising, is to cut 195 jobs (125 job cuts will affect its offices located in Turin). The job cuts are included in the 2009-2011 reorganisation plan announced by the company at the beginning of November 2008. Moreover, the plan envisages new investments in the internet services, IT, marketing and advertising divisions, and training for the personnel.

The company announced for the redundant workers the recourse to the “mobility” (mobilità) with a view to early retirement and other measures aimed to reduce the negative social effects of the lay-offs.

The Seat PG is a large multimedia platform which provides tens of millions of users with detailed information and search instruments, and 600,000 advertisers with access to a wide range of advertising and communications services. It offers consumers and businesses ways to make themselves known and let people find them.

The Seat PG belongs to the Seat group, which has 6,652 employees worldwide. The Seat PG operates in five European countries; in Italy, it has 1,449 employees.
