Description

Motorola, one of the leading companies in producing mobile phones, is to close its research centre located at Turin, with the loss of 370 jobs. Moreover, the company announced other 30 job cuts in its offices located at Milan and Rome. The job cuts are included in the reorganisation plan announced by the company at the beginning of November. The plan will affect the Motorola sites worldwide. The trade unions reacted to the company’s decision by going out on strike and trying to involve the local authorities in order to avoid the closure of the research centre. Motorola is one of the leading companies in the mobile communications. It has around 66,000 employees worldwide.
