European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Mehano, a Izola-based toy manufacturer, has announced that it is to close and dismiss all its 160 workers. 20 employees are likely to be re-employed for maintanance activities. Mehano has struggled financially for the last ten years.
According to the latest information of 2008-12-5, the local court approved the liquidation of Mehano. The latest information on the number of employees, which will lose jobs, is 137 workers with permanent and 9 workers with fixed term contracts. Most of them will receive little more than EUR 3,000 of indemnity money per person.
