Description

Whirlpool, the world’s leading manufacturer of home appliances, is to cut 5,000 jobs. The majority of the job cuts will affect the company’s sites located in the United States, while around 1,000 job cuts will be implemented at European sites. Whirlpool has around 73,000 employees worldwide, of which 14,000 are employed in Europe.

Whirlpool Corporation is the world’s leading manufacturer and distributor of domestic appliances, with more than 72 manufacturing and technology research centers around the world. It has several brands, such as Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Brastemp and Bauknecht.
