European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Hjem-is, the Danish manufacturer of ice cream based in Esbjerg, has announced the loss of 252 jobs with the closure of its factory in Esbjerg. Production activities will end on 19 December. The company plans to off-shore production activities abroad to a so far unknown location. The management and trade unions (3F and NNF) have had 'positive meetings' - they say - about employment and training possibilities for redundant workers.
