Description

In October 2008, Stradom – a member company of the FAM group – initiated a restructuring operation on its technical fibres production facility in Częstochowa (which makes fabrics for agricultural uses, netting used to reinforce walls, an assortment of plastic yarns, polypropylene packaging, and other items). The plans call for redundancy of approximately 180 workers – almost half the current workforce. Stradom has registered production loss; its situation is aggravated by unfavourable exchange rates and by high oil prices.
