Description

On 15 October 2008, the German supermarket corporation Edeka announced the creation of 25,000 new jobs by opening 1,000 new outlets between 2008 and the end of 2010 (no precise timeline is given). This move comes in spite of a difficult economic environment. Whereas outlets of Edeka's discount chain Netto employ on average between 10 and 15 employees, the largest Edeka outlets will have sometimes more than 70 employees.
