Description
Hewlett-Packard, the US-based global IT giant, has announced plans to axe 580 jobs between October 2008 and October 2010 in France via its subsidiary EDS. HP employs 2,000 staff in total in France. The move is part of a restructuring plan that will result in 24,600 redundancies worldwide over a period of three years. Meanwhile, the group said it is to construct a new factory in Chongqing, China, for the production of PCs.
