Hewlett Packard, a company that works in the IT sector, has announced that 3,378 jobs at EDS, a company that they have recently taken over, are to be cut. This measure is part of Hewlett Packard’s decision to cut over 24,000 jobs worldwide since the takeover of EDS in September 2008. As of 12 October 2008, the company has yet to confirm when or where the job losses will occur, but the 15,000 UK-based EDS staff are based at over 200 sites across the country.
