On 1 October 2008, the real estate company, Deutsche Annington Immobilien GmbH (DAIG), which owns some 220.000 appartments in Germany, announced to cut 400 out of 1400 jobs. The company said the job cuts followed a restructuring of the work organisation. The company said that direct dismissals could not be excluded . As of October 2008, there is no information on when the job cuts will be implemented by.
