Description
Kährs, Europe's biggest wood flooring manufacturer, located in Nybro, Småland has given notice of 245 job losses. Reasons cited are expectations of decreasing sales due to the weak real estate market and the financial recession. To secure the company’s long-term plans of expansion of the Nybro factory, it is a necessary as short-term measure to let these employees go.
The company traces its origins to 1857 when Johan Kähr started a small turning shop and began producing wooden articles for local farmers.
