European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
e-Bay, an online auction and shopping website, has announced plans to reduce its global workforce by about 10%, affecting 1,000 employees in addition to several hundred temporary workers and the reduction of open positions. Restructuring charges are expected to be approximately USD 70-80 million. The global reduction is intended to improve company´s cost structure and strengthen the overall competitiveness of the company´s existing businesses.
