European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
In early August 2008, paper manufacturer Sappi announced that it is to cut 175 jobs (about 25% of the total workforce) by the end of 2008. The job losses are attributed to rising energy costs and prices of raw materials and the weak US-dollar.
