Description

The Stalowa Wola steel mill - Huta Stalowa Wola - has recently posted a PLN 20 million loss, and plans to cut some 300 jobs out of a current workforce of 2,600. As of September 2008, there is no information on when the job losses will be implemented by. Stalowa Wola is the largest state-owned producer of construction equipment and military hardware in the Podkarpacie region.

As reported, Poland has applied for assistance from the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF).
