European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The manufacturer of lighting equipment Osram announced on 29 September 2008 to cut up to 620 jobs within the next two years. The most affected unit will be the production site in Augsburg, where up to 435 out of 1,780 jobs will be cut. The company said it wanted to avoid direct dismissals. No further details are given in relation to other sites affected by the restructuring.
