Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Photovoltech, a solar cell manufacturer owned by French Total SA, GDF Suez and IMEC (Interuniversity MicroElectronics Centre), has announced that it is to expand its photovoltaic (PV) cell production capacity by building a second plant in Tienen (north of Brussels) which will employ 150 new people by the end of 2010. Photovoltech currently employs 100 employees at its existing plant located in Tienen. Photovoltech's investment is driven by strong growth in the European market, in particular in Germany, Spain, Italy, France and Belgium.
