Arctic Paper Håfreströms AB is one out of three paper mills (two in Sweden and one in Poland) owned by Arctic Paper AB. The mill in Håfreström manufactures coated paper. Due to increased energy prices the company has suffered from recession during the past few years. In September 2008, Arctic Paper AB purchased a new mill in Grycksbo and consequently plans to close down the mill in Håfreström within six months. About 30% of the production will be transferred to Grycksbo but the 300 employees will be made redundant.
