Description
Waterford-based poultry producer Cappoquin Chickens is to close by the end of October 2008. The company, which is one of Ireland's largest poultry producers, employs 250 people and has been operating for nearly 50 years. In August 2008, the company announced it was going into liquidation after serious financial losses. Talks to save the firm broke down after a buyer could not be found.
