Description
French car equipment manufacturer Klarius, specialized in the manufacture of exhaust systems and catalysts, announced the closure of its factory in Dreux (Eure-et-Loire) on 30 September 2008. The commercial Court of Nanterre, near Paris, announced that it rejected proposals to repurchase Klarius, submitted by several companies. The Court considered the conditions to be insufficient and decided that the company, which employs 320 people, would have to stop its activity on 30 September.
Klarius had bought the plant Rosi last year. Specializing in the manufacture of exhaust systems and catalysts, the company had been in liquidation since March 2008.
80 jobs have already been cut in June. The economic situation of the sector and the company's financial situation did not allow the company to pursue its activity. Employees are highly affected by this decision and one person committed suicide on 22 September 2008.
