European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The supervisory board and the general meeting of HMN Szopienice (Huta Metali Nieżelaznych Szopienice), the metals smelter, have decided on 1 September 2008 to shut down its steel mill. The company registered a loss of more than PLN 88 million for 2007. Job losses will affect the 355 employees.
