Description
Mondi Packaging, producer of plastic packaging in Nyborg, Fuen, is to close with the loss of 160 jobs. The buildings have been sold and the employees will be dismissed in three groups. The first group will leave on 30 September, the next group on 31 October and the rest of the employees will phase out the activities and the factory will close on 31 December 2008. Part of the production will move to England from the beginning of 2009. The local union, 3F, is preparing a continuing vocational training programme for the redundant with the aim to find new jobs.
Mondi is an international paper and packaging group, with 35,000 employees across 35 countries.
