European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The group Chiquita, the banana producer, has decided to remove its European headquarters from Antwerp to Switzerland with a loss of 124 jobs. The employees concerned are from the financial, HR, supply chain management and marketing. However, the activities related to Antwerp's harbour and the commercial unit will remain. The reason of this decision was justified by the Belgian fiscal costs being too high.
