Description
Saint-Gobain, a French glass building materials supplier, has announced that it is to dismiss 4,000 to 6,000 workers out of 210,000 employed worldwide due to the worsening of the market situation. It was reported that 2,920 jobs will be lost in the United States, Great Britain and Spain. The job losses are expected to be implemented by the end of 2008. Saint-Gobain's restructuring plan is aimed at saving up EUR 435 million.
