Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
In the course of 2008 German engineering company Bosch will invest €31 million and hire 130 more engineers at its R+D centre in Budapest, which was opened in 2000. The R+D centre is divided into five departments, where automobile-industry technology, such as rain and sunlight sensors, ultrasound parking systems and ABS anti-lock braking systems, are developed and tested. The company plans to increase the number of mechanical and electrical engineers employed at the facility to 450 from the current 320 by the end of 2008 and to hire even more engineers in 2009, the exact number of which is not clear yet.
