Description
Royal Mail has announced that it is to shut its Coventry office with the relocation of 500 jobs by the end of 2009. It has said that the site must shut and the work must transfer to Northampton as the Coventry site on Bishop Street was no longer suitable. The closure was confirmed in a meeting with the Union and staff working in Coventry will be offered the opportunity to relocate to other Royal Mail sites. Communication Workers Union representative has said that workers may strike if the plans to close the site go ahead.
