European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Valeo Systemes Thermiques, the French manufacturer of heating systems for the car industry , has announced that it plans to reduce the number of personnel at its production site in La Suze-sur-Sarthe by 310 in the 2008-2011 period.
The plants currently employs 670 workers plus another 60 temporary workers whose contracts will not be renewed.
The direction attributed the job losses (only 38 job cuts were foreseen three months ago) to a reduction in orders and the loss of contracts.
