European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Incanto, one of the main Italian upholstered sofas manufactures, is to cut 135 jobs (out of 270) at its plant located in Matera. The company has taken this decision in order to reduce its operative costs to cope with increasing global competitors. The trade unions are worried about both the negative social effects that will affect redundant workers and the economic crisis that concerns the entire sector.
