Description

German carmaker Daimler Benz announced that it is to create 2,500 new jobs by investing around €800 million in the development of a new plant in Kecskemét (south-east Hungary). The amount of government subsidy has not been made public. The new plant will initially produce 100,000 class A and B Mercedes cars per year from 2011 onwards. A further 10,000 new jobs will be created by the company’s suppliers that will service the facility. As of June 2006, there is no information on when either employment at the new plant will commence or the new jobs will be created by.
