Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Fomas, which forges products and rolls rings, in steel and non-ferrous alloys, destined mostly for power generation, oil and gas, industrial bearings and transmission markets, is to create 190 new jobs. The company has announced the 2008-2012 business plan that envisages new investments in the Osnago plant (in the province of Lecco), with the consequent creation of 60 new jobs, and in the Villamarzana plant (in the province of Rovigo), with the creation of 130 new jobs. In particular, the plan envisages a new lay out for the Osnago plant, while a new modern plant will be built at Villamarzana.
The Fomas group is a world leader in open-die forging and ring rolling technology. It is headquartered at Osnago and it has factories located in Italy, France, India and China, with a global workforce of around 1,200 employees. In Italy, the Fomas group has around 700 employees.
